Summer Shieder
Summer Shieder is a South Carolina native and children’s book author who finds inspiration in the everyday wonders of her home state. As a wife, mother, and former elementary school teacher, Summer brings a deep understanding of early childhood development to her storytelling. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s degree in Literacy from Coastal Carolina University.
Summer’s two beloved Boykin Spaniels, Bowman and Tillie, have been her loyal companions through college, marriage, and the birth of her first child. Their playful spirit and the adventures they’ve shared as a family are woven into the heart of her debut book, making it a special tribute to her love for South Carolina and its unique charm.
Summer hopes her stories will spark a love of reading and exploration in young children, encouraging them to discover the beauty of the world around them.
